WebJul 20, 2024 · I recently learned that there are breather plugs / vents for the transmission, and, in the case of AWD, the transfer unit, and the rear differential. Sometimes these get clogged or rusted shut and can cause oil seals to leak. Some sample photos from other Toyota forums: On the Venza, the breather for the transmission is easily accessed.
