The recovery key gets requested (here, on our about 80 computers) only when we. -do bios updates. -change bios config like boot order or toggle secure boot on/off. -remove the hard drive and connect it to another machine. The only way I've found to get around this so far so a user isn't locked out of the PC is (while not ideal) disable Bitlocker. These were Dell Precision 3600s.
